Shuttleworth Uncovered 2015, Great Britain

The last major airshow of 2015 was held at Old Warden. The event was called "Shuttleworth Uncovered" and true to its name there would be opportunities to get a close up look at the unique collection of vintage aircraft and vehicles on display. The show was greeted with clear blue skies, warm autumnal colours in the trees and subtle golden sunshine. Light winds throughout the day meant that the full flying schedule could be adhered to.

Shuttleworth Uncovered was a very important event in the calendar. It will be remembered in history as the show that hosted Avro Vulcan B2 XH558’s final public display. This accolade brought a sell-out crowd to Old Warden who not only enjoyed the Vulcan, but perhaps one of the most varied and special Shuttleworth Collection air displays of recent years.

In addition to the emotional farewell display from the Vulcan other highlights included displays by; Sea Hurricane Ib; Supermarine Seafire XVII; Hawker Hurricane I R4118; Percival Provost T52; North American T-6 Texan; Gloster Gladiator; Hawker Demon; de Havilland DH88 Comet; and an extraordinary performance by Mark Jefferies in his Extra 330SC.

With the light starting the fade away those members of the public that stayed to the end witnessed the magical and majestic sight of multiple Edwardian aircraft taking to the air including; Deperdussin; Avro Triplane, Bristol Boxkite and the Blackburn Type-D Monoplane.
